Event Update For 2017-09-20

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

There were 239 cases of the flesh-eating infections in the past 12 months, according to figures (PDF) released this week by health authorities. In 2016, there were only 102 reported cases, while 2015 and 2014 tallied just 58 and 47."

Note: Just like the environment is changing in ways that favor jellyfish and sea lice, the environment is changing in ways that favor flesh-eating bacteria. It's probably all the same thing: rising ocean and sea temperatures...

  1. Mornin' Jonny. The damage reports beginning to emerge are astounding in Mexico and Puerto Rico (not to mention Florida lost HALF of its orange trees). People refuse to see where this is all going to end. There will be no re-building of Barbuda, Puerto Rico, large parts of Houston and Florida. The energy, resources, money and political will are just not there. It's a sad reality that so many have yet to awaken to - that our habitat is dying and it won't be long before humanity is sucked down the drain too.

Puerto Rico Faces Mountain of Obstacles on the Road to Recovery
    http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/puerto-rico-faces-mountain-of-obstacles-on-the-road-to-recovery/ar-AAskqzi

A day after Hurricane Maria razed Puerto Rico, its ferocious winds smashing houses, hotels, cellphone towers and the island’s entire electrical grid, the fear and frustration were pervasive on Thursday.
Power was out everywhere. Cellphones were mostly useless, forcing panicked residents to scramble for news from far-flung relatives. Much of the island’s water was undrinkable. Roads were carpeted in debris. And still the full scope of the damage was unknown. By day’s end, Puerto Rico’s governor, Ricardo Rosselló, said there had been no contact with officials in 85 percent of the island.
For Puerto Rico, long crippled by enormous debt and an essentially bankrupt financial system, the road to recovery just went from long to seemingly endless. Still reeling from Hurricane Irma, which knocked out 70 percent of the power when it grazed the island two weeks ago, it faces a mountain of need in the coming months just as the federal government is stretched to the limit grappling with the destruction left by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Ten elderly people have now died at Florida nursing home that lost power during Hurricane Irma. The state suspended its license after finding "gross medical and criminal recklessness" in the care of its patients.

the patents were not timely evacuated to the air-conditioned hospital across the street. When they did reach the hospital their body temperatures between 107 and 109 degrees (41 and 42 degrees Celsius) and "far too late to be saved." The facility also made late entries into patients' medical records, recorded hours after nurses visited the patients. [more]

The death toll will certainly rise as rescue workers continue to search the precarious ruins amid the threat of aftershocks, collapsing rubble and gas leaks.

    https://www.eenews.net/stories/1060061307

The Heartland Institute has found an ally in U.S. EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt as he seeks to portray climate science as a debate.
While a number of conservative think tanks employ scientists or economists to discredit mainstream climate science, the Illinois-based Heartland Institute has a stable of them. It's devoted years to crafting an alternative body of climate change research that exists outside the prevailing view of scientists. Now, President Trump's administration may give the libertarian group its greatest influence in years.

"These guys are serious scientists and they are routinely smeared in stories, in the words by scientists, scientists on the other side, from NOAA and other places," Lakely said. "And so it does go both ways, and I think it's not helpful to the debate we need to have about what is actually happening and what we can do about it, if anything." [more]

Can the United States Afford Another Hurricane?
    https://www.hakaimagazine.com/article-short/can-united-states-afford-another-hurricane

[see? people are beginning to get the picture, like it or not]

The 2017 North Atlantic hurricane season still has about five weeks to go, but it’s already one of the most expensive on record.
According to Gavin Magor, a senior financial analyst at rating agency Weiss Ratings, claims on damages caused by Hurricane Harvey will cost from US $160- to $190-billion, and Irma will cost $50- to $60-billion. This toll makes the two storms more expensive than 2005, when four hurricanes caused $143-billion in damages. It’s just as bad for some of the islands in the Caribbean, with an early estimate putting the damage from Irma at $10- to $13-billion, the most expensive storm on record in the region.

Such massive expenses force the question: can the United States afford to take another hit?

Private insurers and reinsurers (companies that insure insurers), for their part, have deep enough pockets to pay out Harvey and Irma claims. After the busy hurricane season of 2004, and the devastation wrought by Katrina, Rita, Wilma, and other storms in 2005—the cost of which caused some insurers to fold—the past 12 years have been relatively quiet. This has allowed the remaining companies to restock. [more]

Synthetic muscle breakthrough could lead to 'lifelike' robots
    https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/synthetic-muscle-breakthrough-could-lead-161400977.html

A breakthrough in soft robotics means scientists are now one step closer to creating lifelike machines. Researchers at Columbia Engineering have developed a 3D printed synthetic tissue that can act as active muscle. The material, which can push, pull, bend, and twist (thanks to its use of silicon rubber and ethanol-dispensing micro-bubbles) is also capable of carrying 1,000 times its own weight. Not only could the invention result in super-strong machines (like a Terminator that works in manufacturing), but it will also release soft robots from their current shackles.
